A New Project

This summer, my roommate, Sadie, and I have declared we will no longer live in a bland apartment. After Pinterest board collaborations, we've settled on a fun, vibrant, and energizing color scheme with big plans.

Our biggest enemy in apartment design is the huge blank wall we have in our kitchen. It's too big for just any photos, and it's the bane of my creative existence if you ask me. Nobody wants to cook staring at a big white wall!

After scowing Pinterest for the perfect way to fill this space, Sadie and I decided it would be the best for a feature wall with personalized art representing each roommate. The only issue with this idea is the need to stay within the bounds of a college budget. Personalized art is a great way to support small business owners, but that's an adventure I'd love to take once I can financially support myself to start. Thus, this project fell into my lap.

I've never digitally designed a poster for print, but that wasn't going to get in my way. I utilized Adobe Express, a cousin to Canva, to create 5 personalized posters to frame and fill our big blank wall. The process was an energizing way to get to know my two new roommates as well as challenge my design capabilities.

We are planning to print these posters at our local Office Depot and frame them with thin poster frames from Walmart. I'm so excited to brighten our space with them!
